CFTDA is an organization dedicated to promoting high quality fire technology education and training. Membership includes many community colleges throughout California. Our primary goal is to facilitate cooperation and information exchange between community college fire technology programs.

Chief Beckman has 30 years of experience in the fire service, and has served as a Battalion Chief for the past 10 years. He is Fire Battalion Chief of the San Gabriel Fire Department. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Fire Technology from Rio Hondo College in 1992. In 2002, he graduated from California State University Los Angels with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Administration and Technology. He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy. There, he completed 3 years of residence courses. From 2004 to 2010 he served as the president of the Foothill Training Officers Association. Chief Beckman is a California State Fire Marshal Registered Master Instructor and Senior Master Instructor. He is also a California State Marshal Certified Fire Officer, Chief Fire Officer and Fire Instructor 3.

Chief Mosack retired from the Alhambra Fire Department after a distinguished 30-year career, concluding his service as Assistant Chief. Throughout his tenure, he advanced through all operational ranks, including Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Assistant Chief. Certified as a Paramedic in 1988, Chief Mosack continues to maintain his Paramedic license. In 2012, he began teaching Fire Technology courses as an Adjunct Professor at Mt. San Antonio College, eventually becoming the Director of Public Safety Programs in 2017. In this leadership role, he oversees the Fire Technology and Wildland Fire Technology programs, the Administration of Justice program, and the Paramedic Academy, where he also serves as the Paramedic Program Director. Chief Mosack holds a Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Administration and Technology from California State University, Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the Fire Service Executive Development Institute (International Association of Fire Chiefs), the Executive Leaders Program (Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security), and the Executive Fire Officer Program (National Fire Academy).
